Akhet Hwt-Hrw was founded in 1996 by Kerry and Linda Wisner, as an on-line school dedicated to the research, reconstruction and practice of Ancient Egyptian religion and magic. Kerry has had a life long interest in the magical arts as expressed through the Western Mysteries. He was first introduced to these by his father who was himself a member of an esoteric school. In 1980 Kerry was initiated into a vibrant nature religion with roots in Celtic practices. In the late 1980's his love of Ancient Egypt caused him to delve into that culture's rich spiritual legacy. From this research Akhet Hwt-Hrw emerged. Seeking to bridge the gap between ancient teachings and contemporary practices in 2005 Kerry was initiated into an active Hermetic order with strong roots in Greco-Egyptian, Ogdoadic and Neoplatonic studies. Kerry is also an astrologer, certified hypnotherapist and forensic hypnotist. He is the author of several books and correspondence courses. Numerous articles written by Kerry have appeared in publications nationwide. Linda Wisner's involvement in esoteric practices varies from her interest in traditional forms of European sorcery, a love of her Native American heritage, to her research of Egyptian teachings and aspects of the Western Mysteries. With a keen eye she has been an invaluable researcher and editor of the schools educational materials. She is also the founder of Kephra Publications, a small publishing house devoted to packaging and distribution of quality books and articles.
